13'-10" Force 5
Sailboat |
How to Adjust the Dolly to Fit Your
Boat |
The length of the Universal Launching Dolly easily adjusts to fit your
Boat in a minute. The Rear Supports Swivel from Flat to a Vee Position and can swiftly be Adjusted to
Fit Your Boats Hull.
The Forward Supports can be Positioned anywhere Along the Tongue of the
Dolly. The Bow Stop Adjusts along the Length of the Handle and can be
angled from Straight out to Flush on the Handle to Fit Tapered or Plumb
Bows. |
Universal Dolly Tongue Length
Adjustment. |
Generally, you would adjust the Dollies Tongue length to be about one
foot past the balance Point. This gives you the Lightest Handle
Weight to pick up, while keeping the Boat firmly on the Dolly past the
Axle Point. Divide the Length of your Boat in Half and Add One
Foot (12"). Example: You have a 14' Sailboat - One half
the length is 7' (84") - Add One Foot (12") - Would Equal 8'
(96") - Adjust the Tongue to 96" and you are Correctly
Balanced.
Exceptions -
Boats with Outboard Motors and Zodiac Style Inflatables - Position
the Axle under the Transom for Best Balance Support. See Example
Chart Below.
Short Boats - 8' or less. Position for Best Fit - See
Example Chart Below.
Personal Preference - Adjust the Length to your liking.
Perhaps longer to make launching in Shallow Water Easier. |

Large Standard Wheels
And Optional Super Size Wheels
|
Optional Super Size Tire Mounted on Dolly with Large Standard Tire
Shown Side by Side
When should you consider the Super Size Wheel Option?
If sand is so soft, that your foot sinks in it to your ankle height, then
the Super Size Wheel would be appropriate. Or if you have a
heavier boat, which would need more support on moderate sandy beaches.
Remember - Utilizing the Super Size Wheel Option increases the dolly's
floatation when in the water. When using the Super Size Wheels, step on
the centerline tube to submerge dolly when retrieving boat.
|
|
|
|
Use Optional Super Size Wheels for:
- Very Soft Sand
- Muddy Areas
- Rocky Areas
- Uneven Ground
- Heavier Boats
- For Extra Clearance
|
|
|
|
|
Standard Size Wheel Works
Well for Most Applications |
|
|
Standard Tire is a Large 15" High and 6"
Wide
Optional Super Size Tire is 18.5"
High and 8.5" Wide |
Super Size Wheels do Add extra Floatation to the Dolly.
When Retrieving the Boat in Water, it may be Necessary to step on
the centerline tube to submerge dolly. |
